An Update for Red Clay Employees: Face Coverings in Schools and District Facilities
June 22, 2021
On June 15, Governor Carney announced the following modifications for schools:
- When students are not present, staff can remove their masks.
- When outside, students and staff will not be required to wear masks.
We recognize this new guidance may create questions for Red Clay’s expectations.
The following health and safety protocols are in place for the Red Clay Consolidated School District.
When students are NOT present in the building
- Staff may remove their face covering while on Red Clay property.
- Staff who are not vaccinated are encouraged to wear a face covering when around others.
- If outside, face coverings are not required to be worn.
Expectations around social distancing remain unchanged. If deemed a close contact by DPH quarantine measures still apply.
When students are not present in the building, the decision to wear a face covering is a personal decision. Staff who are vaccinated may elect to wear a face covering based on their individual circumstances. Staff who are not vaccinated are encouraged to continue wearing a face covering. This has been a trying year for all so we simply ask that mutual respect is granted when dealing with this topic.
Face Covering Requirements Administrative Memorandum 5012.11 Face Coverings in District Schools and Facilities
As a district, Red Clay will continue to encourage participation in the COVID-19 Vaccination Program. Anyone with questions or concerns regarding the COVID-19 Vaccine Program are encouraged to discuss their individual circumstances with their primary care physician.
All visitors are expected to follow the guidance for face coverings in Red Clay Schools and District Facilities.
