The Chief Financial Officer prepares the district’s annual operating budget and is responsible for recommending the annual tax rates to the Red Clay Board of Education. The CFO oversees the Office of Accounting and works closely with that department to coordinate all audit engagements and manage revenue receipts and all budget expenditures based on purchasing policies and procedures developed in concert with State of Delaware regulations.
The CFO manages the district liability coverage and all vendor contracts, and coordinates monthly Community Financial Review Committee meetings. The CFO also oversees the Office of Human Resources and the hiring of all district staff as well as managing the Office of Payroll, Benefits & Leaves. Our department’s goal is to provide strong fiscal management and provide clear, accurate and transparent financial information for the public.
