    What is Positive Behavior Support? PBS is a school wide behavior support program aimed at promoting positive behavior while preventing behavior problems. PBS teaches and emphasizes proactive strategies so that academic and social successes can be achieved. THE UNIFIED ARTS TEAM will host the PBS Celebration on Thursday, January 31, 2019. Students will have an opportunity to have fun and celebrate in TECHNOLOGY, SCIENCE, PHYSICAL FITNESS, MUSIC AND ART.

  • PATHS Model School

    All About PATHS – Promoting Alternative Thinking Strategies. Shortlidge Academy became the one of the first in state of Delaware to receive such an honor. WEEK OF 1/29/2019: KN - Kindergarten will review basic feelings: HAPPY, SAD, ANGRY and SCARED. They will discuss that all emotions are OK. Grade 1 - First grade is practicing self-control using the control signals poster. Stop- Take a deep breath, say the problem and how you feel Make a Plan- Think, what could I do? Think, would it work? Go- Try your best idea. How did it work? Grade 2- Second graders will continue to use the Control Signals Poster to solve problems and remember to use the fair play rules.

    ClassDojo is a classroom communication app used to share reports between parents and teachers. Teachers track student behavior and upload photos or videos. The gamification style system teaches developmental skills through real-time feedback.

  • Beyond Those Bars - Cultural Resoration Project Inc.

    Working with Beyond the Bars allowed us merge student success stories built around ATTENDANCE MATTERS. The project design supported students from K through 2nd grades and stressed the importance of good grades and coming to school on time ready to learn. Special thanks to Mr. Richard Raw and his wife, AliSah Watson from the Cultural Restoration Project for supporting our vision.
