Girls' Swimming Wins Conference

Monday's tri-meet against the Vikings of Christiana and St. Elizabeth's stood between the girls' swim team and its first ever conference title. The team had already defeated conference foes Brandywine, McKean, and Glasgow; so only one team stood in its way. And after the last splash in the pool,  the Lady Rams came away victorious against both Vikings squads and as Blue Hen Conference Flight B champions for the 2016-2017 season. The team was led its lone senior Rebecca Manthorpe; three juniors in Lauren Bodnar, Meghan Leach, and Joelle Wilkins, sophomores Kat Delgado and Lydia Todd, and freshman Alexis Everett. However, it was the infusion of 8th graders that really put the squad over the top. Four MYP students including Abby Campion, Maggie Daly, Sarah Dilworth, and Rachel Tims played pivotal roles on this year's team. Of course, none of this would have been possible were it not for the expert coaching of conference coach of the year Kathy Sheehy. Her positive energy and passion held the group together in spite of numerous obstacles throughout the season.
