Students were encouraged to write a paragraph about a fameous African American for Black History Month. Then those students that were interested were chosen to read what they wrote on morning announcements. Many scholars were excited about the opportunity to help out and shine on air! Students get to sit next to either the principal or assistant pricipal behind the filming desk and record important news that needs to be shared with the school. Students start off by helping lead in saying the pleadge of alligence and the Highlands pleadge. They read the paragraph they wrote and then participate in a PBS lesson conversation with their co-host. Many more students will be givin this exciting opportunity to participate in the coming weeks.
