Chinese Immersion Classes Celebrate Chinese New Year
On Friday, February 22nd, Linden Hill's Chinese Immersion classes held a celebration of the Chinese New Year. The day marked the final day of the Chinese Lunar New Year. The Immersion students wore traditional outfits and t-shirts that were decorated with "Year of the Pig" logos. The Chinese Immersion program is currently offerred to Linden Hill's Kindergarten and 1st Grade students. These students showcased their ability to speak in Mandarin and their knowledge of Chinese culture. Throughout the event, Kindergarten and 1st Grade students performed martial arts, sang songs, performed ribbon dances, and introduced fun facts about the Lunar New Year. The Chinese New Year is all about celebrating family unity. Linden Hill Elementary came together like a big family to celebrate this important event together.
