4th Annual Black History Panel -"Entrepreneurship within Black Culture"
Today AVID and CIS students had the opportunity to participate in a Black History Panel Discussion. This is the 4th year AVID and CIS has hosted this event and each year it gets better. The topic of Discussion was "Entrepreneurship within Black Culture." Guest speakers included Taron Brown (Thorough Threads clothing brand), Cris Cavallari (Fashion Icon owner of ICCONIC apparel and accessories), Dr. Jalaal Hayes (Founder/CEO of Dr. Jah Academy), and Shani Savage (Founder/Owner of SirenXO Cosmetics). Stanton's Gospel Choir also performed for their very first time and did an amazing job singing "Life Every Voice and Sing" African American National Anthem, as well as a selection of their own. Lets not forget the Boyz II Men Leadership group who gave us some black history facts. Our AVID students were attentive while taking Cornell Notes and had some great questions to ask our Panelists. Until next year.
