As cold weather arrives bringing flu season, please consider getting you and your loved ones flu shots. Also, please stay up to date with Covid boosters.  All students who are absent for 3 or more days need documentation from a doctor or medical facility to have the absences excused.

Screenings for the 2022-2023 School Year

    Vision and Hearing

Vision and Hearing Screening will be completed for all Kindergarten, Second, Fourth and all Special Education Students.

Scoliosis screenings of all 5th grade students will take place the week of December 5.
These evaluations will occur individually in the nurse’s office with complete privacy. If any abnormalities are observed, a note will be sent home with the student. A physical therapist from Nemours Children’s Hospital will come to Richey sometime in 2023 and do a more extensive examination of those identified by the school nurse. They will continue to communicate with the parent/guardian as to what next steps look like. Please contact Donna O’Connor with any questions or concerns at 302-992-5537.

    Orthopedic Screenings

An orthopedic screening will be completed on all Fifth Grade students.

If you have a concern regarding these screenings, please feel free to contact me at any time.
