    Administrative Staff

    Mr. Rumford—Principal

    Mr. Rumford was born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware. He is married and has a son and daughter. Both have graduated from college. Mr. Rumford attended Concord High School and received a B.S. in Health and Physical Education from West Chester State College. He earned a Master's degree from Wilmington College in Leadership and Instruction in 1997. Mr. Rumford has been a teacher/administrator for over thirty-five years and has been at Skyline since 1996; the past 6 as principal. Mr. Rumford loves sports, especially baseball.

    Mr. Lyons – Assistant Principal

    Mr. Lyons received a B.S. in Health and Physical Education from the University of Delaware and was a member of the University’s swim team. He earned a Master’s degree from Wilmington University in School Administration. Mr. Lyons has been teaching since 2003 and has been a Behavior Intervention Specialist since 2010. He has coached youth and high school swimming for over twenty years. Mr. Lyons is very excited to be part of the Skyline Community.

    Mrs. Johnson - Assistant Principal

    Born in Pennsylvania, Mrs. Johnson attended private school in Media, PA. With degrees in English literature, counseling, and educational leadership, Mrs. Johnson followed in her mother’s footsteps to teach in Red Clay beginning in the 2009 school-year. An administrator since 2013, she is proud to represent Skyline, showing her Jaguar PAWS Pride since 2015. 


    Mr. Metrinko - Student Advisor

    A native of Long Island, NY Mr. Metrinko earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Delaware in 2000.  He furthered his education and earned his Masters in Educational Leadership in 2012.  Mr. Metrinko has been teaching for 17 years, all within the Red Clay School District.  He has been involved in athletics as a coach for the University of Delaware, middle school coach and athletic director at Brandywine Springs.  Mr. Metrinko also serves as the Vice President of Piedmont Baseball, Softball and Buddy Ball.  Mr. Metrinko is extremely excited about the opportunity to work with the students and staff within Skyline Middle School.



    Support Staff

    Mrs. Basara—Guidance Counselor
    Mrs.Basara received her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from University of Delaware and Master’s degree in School Counseling from Wilmington University.  Mrs. Basara started at Skyline as the guidance counselor in 2005. She enjoys working with the Skyline Community.

    Mrs. Thompson - Guidance Counselor

    Mrs. Thompson obtained her Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Science and her Master's degree in School Counseling from Wilmington University. She started working in the Red Clay School District in 2011.  She is excited to be a counselor at Skyline, and work with the students, families, and staff.

    Mrs. McGuigan—School Psychologist

    Mrs. McGuigan graduated in 2001 from Saint Joseph’s University with a BS degree in Psychology, then attended Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) for two years and received a Masters degree in Clinical Health and Counseling Psychology.  She then attended Immaculata University for two years and received a School Psychology Certification.  She began working at Skyline in 2005. She enjoys working with the Skyline students, families, and staff!

    Dr. Getman—School Psychologist

    Dr. Getman obtained her BA degree from SUNY at Buffalo in 1981.   She graduated from Alfred University in 1994 with her Master's in School Psychology, and in 1996 with her Doctorate in Psychology.    She is excited to be working with the seventh grade at Skyline Middle two days per week, and "Anticipates Awesome" this year.

     Ms. Snyder – Educational Diagnostician

    Ms. Snyder graduated from Eastern Illinois University in 1991 with her BS degree in special education.  She has been a special education teacher in Red Clay since the fall of 1991.  She attended the Writing Institute at Columbia University in NYC the summer of 2003.  She also received a reading certificate from the University of Delaware. She enjoys working with the Skyline families and students.
