Community Volunteers Lend a Hand at Anna P. Mote Elementary School
A team of community volunteers have been hard at work sprucing up Anna P. Mote Elementary School. They worked with the school staff to paint hallway murals featuring growth mindset quotes and Mote bulldogs, with design help from Cab Calloway School of the Arts students. The project continued in the cafeteria, where they created a Calm Down Safe Space, and in the school's restrooms, where they added inspirational messages to help spread positivity throughout the school.
In the art room, the team reorganized classroom materials. Outside, they weeded and mulched the front entrance area of the school. To top it all off, they also donated over 400 bookbags full of school supplies for students in different grades!
"We are so grateful to our friends in the community for all they have done to help our school shine," said principal Anthony Gray Bolden.
The volunteer effort was coordinated with the Journey Church.
