Kim Stock is Red Clay's 2020-21 Teacher of the Year!

Congratulations to Kim Stock, who has been selected as Red Clay's 2020-21 Teacher of the Year! With 13 years of experience in education, Mrs. Stock teaches English language arts classes at Thomas McKean High School, where she works closely with students who are English learners.

Mrs. Stock brings a rich background of experience to Red Clay, with previous roles as a middle school English teacher in Lincoln, Nebraska, a language arts tutor and writer, a GED language arts instructor for adult learners, and the manager of a community-based learning center where she helped to increase the center's enrollment by over 100%.

In addition to her classroom duties, Mrs. Stock enjoys advocating for students as a proud Red Clay Diversity Champion.

"The most important job I have as a teacher," said Mrs. Stock, "is to teach my students for who they are and not who someone else thinks they are or thinks they should be."

Get ready to learn lots more about Mrs. Stock and our other 2020-21 building winners as we follow them over the next year.
